Match worn/issue shirts

This is a list of features that distinguish
a match issue / worn shirt from a store shirt.
The list is a more detailed version of the one you could
find on the famous JuveMWS site.
1995/1996
- Scudetto shield and Coppa Italia patch embroidered on the shirt
- On the neck tag, the size is embroidered in a silver rectangular background with a vertical yellow/gold line and "Official Pro Equipment" is placed on that line.
- Stitching on the neck tag gives an impression of black dots on the yellow triangle under "r" in "Gara" word (contrary to the common believe, it doesn't have to necessarily be exactly 6 "dots")
- On Home shirts names and numbers were sublimated
- On Away shirts issued for Serie A both names and numbers were thermo applied and have a thin blue edge around letters and numbers. In Champions League, there were only numbers and they were sublimated.
Shirts used in Champions League final had names applied in plastic letters on a velvet rectangle with the angles rounded off. In contrast, the shirts produced for the “Old Legends” (Del Piero, Ravanelli and Vialli) have a rectangular name block made of plastic.

1996/1997
- This is the first season with Lega Calcio / Serie A patch
- This is the first season when sponsor logo on Champions League shirts was smaller than in Serie A
- Serie A patch sewn onto the shirt
- Champions League patch must be embroidered onto the shirt

1997/1998
- Serie A patch sewn onto the shirt
- Champions League patch can be embroidered onto the shirt (first half of the season) or thermo applied Lextra (second half of the season)
- Scudetto shield embroidered on the shirt
- Names on the back have wider letters than in the Old Legend Jerseys
- On the neck tag, the size is embroidered in a silver rectangular background with a vertical yellow/gold line and "Official Pro Equipment" is placed on that line.
- Stitching on the neck tag gives an impression of black dots on the yellow triangle under "r" in "Gara" word (contrary to the common believe, it doesn't have to necessarily be exactly 6 "dots")

- Third shirts (pink) were used in only one friendly game but there are issued shirts for Serie A and Champions League.
Shirts from the friendly game do not have names, just numbers. Shirts issued for Serie A have names and numbers. Both of those shirts have white Kappa logo in the upper part of the number.
Shirts issued for Champions League have names and numbers but numbers do not have the white Kappa logo. It also have a smaller sponsor logo. CL patch is thermo applied, not sewed on.
In every version, numbers and names were thermo applied.
- On GK shirts names and numbers were thermo applied. Black GK shirt also had a thin black edge around letters and numbers
- Only XL size shirts were used by all players
1998/1999
- Scudetto shield embroidered onto the shirt, not sewn
- Neck tag is different than in the previous seasons - size is embroidered in a black box (instead of silver rectangular background) and "Official Pro Equipment" is placed under Kappa Gara logo.
- Home shirts have have thicker embroidery and wider contour of the Kappa logo than replicas have
- Namesets on Home, Third and black GK shirts have a thin black (blue in case of a third shirt) edge around letters and numbers
- Serie A patch sewn onto the shirt
- Stitching on the neck tag gives an impression of black dots on the yellow triangle under "r" in "Gara" word (contrary to the common believe, it doesn't have to necessarily be exactly 6 "dots")
- Only XL size shirts were used by all players
1999/2000
- Home shirts have have thicker embroidery and wider contour of the Kappa logo than replicas have
- Namesets on Home, Away and black GK shirts have a thin black edge around letters and numbers
- Serie A patch sewn onto the shirt
- Match shirts are wider than replicas - pit to pit should be 63-64cm
- Stitching on the neck tag gives an impression of black dots on the yellow triangle under "r" in "Gara" word (contrary to the common believe, it doesn't have to necessarily be exactly 6 "dots")
- Only XL size shirts were used by all players
2000/2001
- Absence of the “Prodotto ufficiale Juventus FC lotto” label on the bottom left side of the shirt
- Serie A patch sewn onto the shirt
- The shirts issued for Champions League matches in the season of 2000/01 must have a patch Lextra sewn onto the shirt.
2001/2002
- Absence of the “Prodotto ufficiale Juventus FC lotto” label on the bottom left side of the shirt
- Font on the size tag is thicker than on replicas
- Serie A patch sewn onto the shirt
2002/2003
- Absence of the “Prodotto ufficiale Juventus FC lotto” label on the bottom left side of the shirt
- Additional stitching around collar in Home and Away shirts
- Lotto label and size tag sewn next to each other (in replicas, they are thermo applied)
- Home shirts made in Italy (replicas were made in Turkey)

2003/2004
- Match shirts have only two long white washtags
- Home shirts were made in Bulgaria, Away and Third shirts were made in Portugal, GK shirts were made in Thailand
- Champions League issued shirts have the Scudetto shield sewn over Nike swoosh, which is embroidered onto the shirt. So, the Nike swoosh logo is only visible from the reverse side.
- Away, Third and GK shirts have thicker namesets than on replicas
2004/2005
- No tags inside except for a very small one with a number
- Made in Portugal (except for GK shirts which were made in Morocco)
- Nike logo and two stars thermo applied (in GK shirts Nike logo is emboridered)
- Sponsor logo made of plastic
- Sponsors: SkySport for Serie A, Tamoil for Champions League / TIM Cup
- Home shirts used in Champions League / TIM Cup had a plain black space on the back, no stripes
- Home shirts prepared for Serie A games should have a black & white contour and no contour on the shirts made for Champions League / TIM Cup.
2005/2006
- Match shirts have no tags inside (except for GK shirts which have only two long wash tags)
- Shirts are thermosealed, not stitched
- Made in Portugal (except for GK shirts which were made in Morocco)
- Nike logo and two stars are thermo applied (except for GK shirts)
- Tricolor stripe is applied only on the outer side of the shirt
- Sponsor logo made of plastic
- Home shirts used in Champions League / TIM Cup had a plain black space on the back, no stripes
- Home shirts prepared for Serie A games should have a black & white contour around the numbers and letters. No contour on the numbers for the shirts made for Champions League / TIM Cup (Letters still have the countour).
2006/2007
- Match shirts have no tags inside (except for GK shirts which have only two long wash tags, just like "authentic" shirts)
- Shirts are thermosealed, not stitched
- Neck tag does not have "Sphere dry" line above the size print
- There is no "Nike Sphere Dry" tag at the back of the shirt
- Sponsor logo is made of velvet material
- Third shirts are made in Portugal, Nike logo and two stars are thermo applied, tricolor stripe is applied only on the outer side of the shirt
- Just like in other seasons, Nike prepared a different version for the Champions League - it had a plain black space on the back, no stripes. However, this shirt was never used in any competition.
They were officially used only as commemorative shirts during 109th Juventus birthday celebration.
2007/2008
- Wash tag thermo applied
- No small tag with the product code sewn in
- Juventus crest, two stars on the left sleeve, Nike logo - all embroidered
- There is no NikeFIT stitching on the bottom right of the front shirt and no silver tag with Juventus crest on the left side.
- Absence of the small "Bianconeri" tag on the back of the collar.
2008/2009
- Wash tag thermo applied
- No small tag with the product code sewn in
- Juventus crest, two stars above the crest, Nike logo - all embroidered
- Absence tricolor band on the right side of the shirt and on the neck label
- There is no NikeFIT stitching on the bottom right of the front shirt.
- Home shirts made in Sri Lanka, Away shirts (gold) made in Morocco
- Home shirts used in Champions League / TIM Cup had a plain black space on the back, no stripes
- Third shirts look almost the same as away shirts in 2007/2008. The important difference is that the stars are above the crest, not on the left sleeve.
- Replicas of GK shirts are similar to match shirts, the only difference is that they have two long wash tags and a small tag with the product code.
- Away and GK shirts issued for Champions League have two long wash tags instead of the printed one. (This information has not been 100% verified)
2009/2010
- Wash tag thermo applied
- No small tag with the product code sewn in
- Juventus crest, two stars above the crest, Nike logo - all embroidered
- Absence tricolor band on the right side of the shirt and on the neck label
- There is no NikeFIT stitching on the bottom right of the front shirt.
- Home shirts made in Morocco, Away shirts (grey) made in Sri Lanka
- Home shirts used in Champions League / Europa League had a plain white space on the back, no stripes, and black namesets.
2010/2011
- Perforated panels on sides
- Wash tag thermo applied
- No small tag with the product code sewn in
- Juventus crest, two stars above the crest, Nike logo, DRI-FIT logo - all embroidered
- Third shirts look almost the same as Away shirts from 2009/2010. Nike black label on the front left side, also used on the others 2010/2011 shirts, has the word “authentic”. Identical label that appears on the 2009/2010 shirts has the word “team”
2011/2012
- Perforated panels on sides
- Wash tag thermo applied
- No small tag with the product code sewn in
- Plastic T-bars applied on shoulders
- Juventus crest, two stars above the crest, Nike logo, DRI-FIT logo - all thermo applied. Except for:
Home shirt (Nike swoosh embroidered) and yellow GK shirt (Nike swoosh and stars above the crest embroidered)
- Perforated sponsor logo (except for background less version on some GK shirts)
- BetClic logo looks different than in the previous season
- Shirts used in a friendly match agains Al-Hilal had a plain white space on the back, no stripes, and black namesets.
2012/2013
- Home shirts must have ALL of the following features:
* perforated panels on sides
* wash tag thermo applied and placed above the stiches of the "Nike Authentic" front label.
* no small tag with the product code is sewn in
* Juventus crest, Nike logo, DRI-FIT logo, "sul campo 30" patch, two stars above the crest - all thermo applied
* the stars must be covered by black & white patch
* necktag has size and Nike Dri-Fit logo in gray, Boniperti’s quote is in black
* black plastic T-bars applied on shoulders

Away, Third and GK shirts:
* perforated panels on sides (except for GK shirts)
* wash tag thermo applied and no small tag with the product code is sewn in
* Juventus crest, Nike logo, DRI-FIT logo, "sul campo 30" patch, two stars above the crest - all thermo applied
* plastic T-bars applied on shoulders (in the colour of the shirt)
* stars above the crest covered with a patch (pink GK shirt is the only one that does not have this patch)
2013/2014
- On match shirts, the size, Nike DRI-FIT logo and the black "1897" label are applied directly on to the shirt, while on replicas and "authentic" shirts there's an additional piece of fabric.
- Wash tag is thermo applied on the side of the shirt. A small white label with the product code and size is sewn in next to it.
- plastic T-bars applied on shoulders in home, away and third shirts (also above Scudetto shield on home shirts)
- The entire back of the away shirt is made from perforated fabric.
- GK match shirts have the black "1897" label on the neck and embroidered Juventus crest.
2014/2015
- Juventus crest is fully stiched on match shirts and "authentic" shirts (it gives an impression of poorer quality), while on replicas, it is stiched partially over a piece of black fabric.
- On match shirts, the size, Nike DRI-FIT logo and the white triangle with "Fino alla fine" print are applied directly on to the shirt, while on replicas and "authentic" shirts there's an additional piece of fabric.
- Wash tag is thermo applied on the side of the shirt. A small white label with the product code and size is sewn in next to it.
2015/2016
- Juventus crest and Adidas logo are thermo applied in match shirts, embroidered on replicas.
- Size is quoted on the neck as a number, including GK shirts.
- ADIZERO technology.
- The small tag with the product code is sewed inside the left shoulder of the shirt.
- Match shirts had only short sleeves
- Namesets are all matte.
2016/2017
- Juventus crest and Adidas logo are thermo applied in match shirts, embroidered on replicas.
- Size is quoted on the neck as a number, including GK shirts.
- ADIZERO technology.
- The small tag with the product code is sewed inside the left shoulder of the shirt.
- Match shirts had only short sleeves

2017/2018
- Juventus crest and Adidas logo are thermo applied in match shirts, embroidered on replicas.

- Perforated fabric in the middle of the back of the shirt.
- Match shirts had only short sleeves
- White namesets (home and third shirt) are matte and have a lustrous vertical lines. Away shirts have all matte namesets.
2018/2019
- Juventus crest and Adidas logo are thermo applied in match shirts, embroidered on replicas.
- Size is quoted on the neck as a number, except for GK shirts.
- The only GK shirt with the size printed as a number is from the last Serie A game against Hellas Verona on May 19th (Buffon farewell #Un1co).
- The small tag with the product code is sewed inside the left shoulder of the shirt.
- Match shirts had only short sleeves
- Namesets are matte and have a lustrous line close to the outer edge.
- Scudetto shield different than in previous seasons: thicker gold edges
- 3rd and GK shirts can be verified as match worn. Each shirt has a unique pattern that can be compared with photos from the game.
2019/2020
- Juventus crest and Adidas logo are thermo applied in match shirts, embroidered on replicas.
- Size is quoted on the neck as a number, except for GK shirts.
- The small tag with the product code is sewed inside the left shoulder of the shirt.
- Namesets are matte and have a lustrous camouflage-like pattern. Palace shirts have completely matte namesets.
- No Cygames print on the back of the shirts for most of the season. Due to COVID-19 pandemic the season was finishied much later, the deal with Cygames was restored in July 2020.
- Match shirts had only short sleeves
- Scudetto shield is different than in the previous seasons: the shield is smaller, has very thin gold edges and has a glossy pattern of Juventus logo.
- Palace match shirts are exactly as those sold in stores. Pay attention to the correct player's size.
- Home, Away, 3rd and GK shirts can be verified as match worn. Each shirt has a unique pattern (pink strip in case of the Home shirt) that can be compared with photos from the game.

2021/2022

- Size is quoted on the neck as a number, except for GK shirts.
